Can I log in to the Petify mobile app with my Petify SaaS (Console) account?

Yes. Use the same email and password you use for the Petify Console. Do not sign up again in the app — signing up with an already-registered email fails at the verification step.

Testing

Do I need a separate sandbox for integration tests?

There is no separate sandbox tenant: on a given backend, testing and live traffic share one account and one balance. What you do have is a staging backend with its own console and its own keys — prefer it while you are evaluating, because a scan against production is a real registration (see the next answer).

On whichever backend you use: spend the 50 Integration Credits granted when you create your first API key or Web Integration link, delete test pets after each test, and use Web Integration trial (mock) links to test without an animal.

Which API key and backend should the sample app — or an evaluation build — use?

Keys are per-backend: a key issued in the staging console works only against staging, and a production key only against production. A mismatch fails license validation with License validation failed: the API key was rejected by the server. The SDK picks the backend from LicenseInfo.environment (React Native: usePetnowCamera({ apiKey, environment })); omit it and you get production. Since a scan against production is a real registration, prefer staging while you are evaluating.

Why does the camera detect the nose but never start capturing?

Usually one of two things: the camera is pointed at a photo, a printed image, or a screen, which the fake-image classifier rejects; or the SDK/capture session is misconfigured. See Troubleshooting for the details.

Can I run the Android SDK on an emulator?

Yes, from 1.5.0. The AAR includes the x86_64 ABI, so the SDK runs on the Android emulator. GPU acceleration on an emulator depends on its GL/OpenCL support and falls back to CPU.

API Keys

Which key goes into the SDK, and is it safe to ship it?

The SDK takes the same Petnow API key type that the Server API uses, and anything shipped inside an app binary can be read back out of it. Issue a dedicated key for the app and keep your server key out of the binary — see API Key Security.

Data

Does the SDK upload images?

No. The SDK returns local image files to your app; your server uploads them through the Server API.
